About me

I, Julio Monteiro (also known as Júlio Santos Monteiro), am currently working as a Software Architect at Euax, a Brazilian project management consultancy. I live in the city of Joinville, in the southern region of Brazil. Here, you may find information about my talks, open source projects, and ways to contact me (in the bottom of this page). Talks

Most (all?) of the talks that I gave are in (Brazilian) Portuguese and, as you might see, are mainly about Ruby programming language and Ruby on Rails web development framework. All talk materials are licensed under Creative Commons Attribuition 2.5 Brazil, so feel free to copy, share and remix.

Projects that I have created, participated or had just made a tiny addition to the README file.

• Aprenda a Programar: Chris Pine's tutorial "Learn to Program" translated to Portuguese.
• HoN Stats: A Ruby interface for the player statistics from Heroes of Newerth game.
• Mail Queue: Rails plugin that adds mails to database for background mail sending.
• rails-i18n: Locale data for Ruby on Rails I18n.

Mirror Projects

Those are (usually) Git mirrors for Subversion repositories. The mirrors are maintained by me, the official ones are not.

• Tremulous: Tremulous is an open source team-based first-person shooter with real-time strategy elements.
